Crayon rubbing! Here's the concept... you take a crayon and a paper, put paper on something textured, and rubbb!!!! The result is an imprint of what you rubbed! Ethan, Zoey, Aster, and I ran all around the school and did this on a ton of various textures. At first I did it on tables and the floor and trees, but eventually I fell in love with imprinting different signs and text and stuff. I loved the effect of a ton of messages. In my opinion, it felt really punk rock zine reminiscent.
When I was working with the elementary kiddos on muralmaking over the summer, we did a pretty similar thing. We rubbed pencils on their sketches to transfer them to pliewood, pretty rad. Its honestly so effective for it's speed and simplicity, would reccommend!
