Fun fact: I adore the pottery wheel! I got really into it a couple years back, but had to step back when our art class was in a smaller room. Now, we have the space again!
Setting it up, muscle memory kicked in: I set up the water, towels, tools, the wheel, and began making a cone shape out of clay. To my luck, not everything was the same as when I used the pottery wheel in 8th grade! It was easier! Here are some key points that made it easier to work with:
1. Dryer clay
2. Slower setting on the wheel
3. More assertive hands (if ya know, ya know)
The mug is currently in the kiln, so I have a stand-in drawing of my process. In all, I look forward to more pottery projects on the wheel!!!
