Screenprintng with Linocuts

I've always been curious to linoprint using screenprinting ink, and finally...the opportunity came! Girl Scouts holds an event called world thinking day, where you create pins called "swaps". You make pins for everyone at the event, that represent the country you focus on at the event. So, I decided a fun way to mass produce swaps would be to create a linoprint and print a ton in an assemply line fashion.
With Aster, I designed the linoprint by sketching Miffy on paper, then transferring my sketch to the linolium block. We chose to draw Miffy, a character created in the Netherlands (our country of focus). Once we had our design, we cut out fabric to print our miffys on. We had to cut out A LOT!! There were over 50 people attending the event.
We set up a great system for printing and drying the ink. One person spread the ink on the block, one person printed, and one person put the pieces under a heat lamp to dry the ink. It was fast!!
Lastly, we put pins in the pieces of fabric, and our swaps were done!
