I don't often make my parents cards, I often forget about their birthdays. This year, I decided to change this!
My dad is turning 51, born on May 25, 1975. He's a cool guy, I don't see him often but everytime I see him we do some weird project. We've torn apart electronics, redone our electrical system in our house, created an external drive, replaced my car's oil, and even plastered our ceiling (this one is still in progress).
So, I decided to center the card around the inside of a VCR player, one of the things we've torn apart. As an artist, this was a cool card to draw out because I don't often use references. I took it slow and focused on understanding each component of what I was drawing. This way, I wasn't drawing aimless lines I don't understand. It was cool, took me about an hour!
