So as I learned in class, colors...there's more to em! Tools like color wheels take a more scientific approach to how you combine colors, mapping out colors based on primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. You may be wondering: this is neat and all, but why does this matter??? Have you ever been creating art, and all your colors clash?? Understanding the color wheel gives you the chance to solve this! Colors across from eachother on the color are complementary, meaning they contrast eachother, and will work well together. This is one example from the concept of color theory- which I encompass in my variety show poster section of my portfolio. But in all, color wheels are a handy tool!So making a color wheel, I wanted to accurately represent the color relations, but also get artsy and creative! I decided to base my color wheel off of where color all stems from...the sun!! Using blending techniques with colored pencils, I mimicked a color wheel in a way I can reference, and also view as pretty art! :> double whammy!
